There are numerous guidelines in writing case studies but the most important thing is sticking to the facts. The project you are working on, whether it a history or economics case studymust need to provide a description of what happened. You need to provide an honest record of events without biased statements or individual attitude involved.

History Case Study Writing Tips

  • Title: you need to have a title and it must be interesting. By looking at your title, they will decide to read it or not. A title that is not specific or is vague does not attract attention. The most common format for titles is compound and nominal. Take note that titles should be between eight to nine words in length. Other things you need to focus are about authors. In any type of work, you should not have more than one or two authors. If you are writing the author, you need to write the contact information either institutional or home.
  • Abstract: follow 1 of 2 styles, structure of the narrative. A structured abstract use subheadings and it became more popular for clinical and scientific studies. This is useful for people who search articles on the internet. On the other hand, narrative abstract consists a shorter version of the paper. There are no headings but the author simply summarizes the paper. For structured abstract, the subheadings will be:
  • Introduction: it consists of one or two sentences in describing the context of your case and summarizing the article.
  • Case presentation: consists of several sentences describing the results and history of examinations performed.
  • Outcome and management: it simply describes the course. As much as possible, it is better to make reference to the outcomes.
  • Discussion: you need to explain what happened, what you gathered, what solutions you find out and what other information is needed.
  • Acknowledgments: if someone helps you in preparing your research paper, you need to thank them and don’t forget to refer to them at the end of your paper.
  • References:  must be sited properly and it should be written accordingly. You need to know the proper format in writing the references, especially for books and articles.
  • Gather all your sources: this is one of the most important history studying tips you should know. If you are just starting to write your case, you need first to gather all your materials. Make a copy of books, articles and other documents you need to complete your study. After it, interview the persons that will help you. If you are done with this process, you can start writing a draft for your study.
  • Proofread: at all times, proofreading is important. A paper will never be great if it contains many mistakes. If you do not want to get a low score for your work after so much time spent on it, then read it again. Check if there are mistakes that you missed and if there is information that you need to remove or add. Also think of your audience, of someone you address your work to and imagine what content and structure they expect to read, what assessment criteria they follow.

Finally, the task of creating a project is not easy.

You need to be serious in writing your case and you need to make sure that what you have included in your paper are real information and not just opinions. You need to write facts, figures, and solutions!
